The castle Trakošćan is an example of a romantic perception of the central European country architecture from the middle of the 19th century.
Veliki Tabor was built at the beginning of the 16th century as a castle-burg of the Ratkaj (Rattkay) family.

Svojim izgledom i perivojno-šumskim okruženjem Trakošćan je primjer romantičnog shvaćanja srednjoeuropske ladanjske arhitekture sredine 19. stoljeća.
Kao grad-dvorac, Veliki Tabor izgrađen je početkom 16. stoljeća kao feudalni (plemićki) grad obitelji Ratkaj (Rattkay).
